Richard and Martin began their connection in 1977 when Martin was somewhat unknown and had only completed a few projects in comparison to Richard’s success. Their collaboration subsequently led to leading parts in several films, including “Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold,” in which they portrayed brothers Allan and Robeson.
The film is based on the novel “Allan Quatermain” by H. Rider Haggard and serves as the sequel to “King Solomon’s Mines.” Sharon Stone portrayed the character Jesse Huston in the film. Martin acted mostly as Chamberlain’s manager, utilizing his entertainment business connections to assist his partner in securing major jobs.

He was also formally adopted so he could have a vote in his husband’s future estate.
In 2010, Richard indicated a desire to devote the rest of his life to acting, but he no longer had the same Hollywood connections he had in the past.
