Julianna met Frank Lucas while she was in her early twenties, at a party of mutual acquaintances hosted in Puerto Rico. After numerous meetings, they fell in love. The couple had three children; in total, Frank welcomed seven offspring. Julianna gave birth to their two boys, Ray Lucas and Frank Lucas Jr., who plays the “Night Bird” bouncer (2012).

Frank Lucas, who was born in La Grange, North Carolina, on September 9, 1930, was one of the wealthiest and most important drug traffickers in the world. Another high-flying Harlem-based gangster, Bumpy Johnson, took Frank under his wing. After Johnson’s death, Frank took matters into his own hands and began working on more drug trafficking operations.
His primary objective was to disrupt the Italian mafia’s stranglehold, and he was successful. Frank was however apprehended by the DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) in 1976, condemned to seventy years in prison, and freed in 1981 after serving only five years. However, in 1984 he was arrested once more and served another seven years in jail.
He was released in 1991 and spent the remainder of his life attempting to live a “normal” life in Puerto Rico. In his later years, he was confined to a wheelchair as a result of a severe vehicle accident in which he fractured both of his legs. He died of natural causes on May 30, 2019, in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Julianna was highly active in assisting her husband in accumulating wealth. She was imprisoned twice, most recently in 2010, for her role in Frank’s schemes and her attempts to sell cocaine to an FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) informant.
