Mia X: Profession, Career
Mia X began her career in her native New Orleans, where she later joined a local rap trio in 1984. “Ask Them Niggas,” Mia’s debut hit, was released in 1992 and appeared in Da Payback in 1993.
No Limit Records, owned by his fellow rapper Master P, and TRU were his collaborative projects when they joined with the company as a solo artist in 1994. She was the first female rapper signed to No Limit Records and had domestic success there.
On November 21st, 1995, Mia X released “Good Girl Gone Bad,” her debut song; nevertheless, it did not reach the Billboard Charts. The first song from Mia’s next album, “The Party Don’t Stop,” was recorded in 1997 and included her CEO, Master P, and Foxy Brown.
After finally releasing her second album, “Unlady Like,” Mia debuted at number 21 on the Billboard 200 chart and at number 11 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The following day, on October 27, 1998, Mia’s third album, Mama Drama, was released. It peaked at number three on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums rankings and at number seven on the Billboard 200 chart.
