Angel Dugard

Jaycee Dugard’s eldest child, the Angel, was born after her mother was sexually assaulted at the age of barely 13 by her abductor. She, along with her mother and sister, became well-known after Jaycee published her memoir, A Stolen Life- A Memoir, which was based on her experiences as Phillip Garrido’s captive.

Angel had a very odd life, being raised in seclusion by a mother who was physically and mentally abusive. She still struggles with the trauma she experienced as a child, in fact.

Here is a thorough account of Angel Dugard, the daughter of Jaycee Dugard, in the year 2022. We will also discuss her professional life, her relationship, and a lot more.

The birth of Angel Dugard was caused by a rape

The young mother Jaycee, who was 13 at the time of the birth of the lovely Angel Dugard, was impregnated by her abductor Phillip Garrido. Although Garrido is legally Angel’s father, their connection was more like that of a kidnapper and a captive.

According to reports, Garrido abducted Angel’s mother when she was only 11 years old. After that, he continued to rape and abuse her while she was detained for years.

Jaycee was just given some analgesics following her pregnancy with Angel, watched some delivery movies, and then left to give birth to the child alone.

Angel was raised in a very traumatic environment due to the circumstances of his birth. She was homeschooled by her mother instead of being able to attend school in the traditional sense.

Angel Dugard and her sister believed their parents were their mother’s abuser

The unfortunate truth is that Angel Dugard and her sister were too young to comprehend what they were going through.

In reality, while their biological mother was introduced to them as their sister, Phillip, her mother’s abuser, led them to believe that he and his wife Nancy were their parents.

Additionally, even after being freed from the captor, the youngster’s Angel and Starlet continued to demonstrate affection for Phillip. Jaycee responded in an interview when questioned about the situation,

“I want them to be able to make their own decisions in life, and if that is something they need to do, then you know I would… I couldn’t accept it. However, I wouldn’t permit them to.

She also said that while she doesn’t want her girls to be friends with him, she also believes that they are smart enough to know what is best for them.

Mom of Angel was taken from a bus stop

A girl, aged eleven, was reported missing from a bus stop in Lake Tahoe in 1991. Although the identity of the kidnapper was kept a secret, it was eventually revealed that she had been taken by a felon by the name of Phillip Garrido. Garrido had dealt with cases before. He had a horrifying criminal history.

Dugard had already served 15 years in jail prior to his conviction for a harassment offense. According to allegations, he repeatedly sexually assaulted women for eight hours inside a rented storage unit.

He also married Christine Murphy, a childhood acquaintance who had threatened to leave him because of his aggressive behavior, after he had abducted her.

Phillip was a kidnapper, a serial rapist, a pedophile, and a hebephile. The 1976 court ruling also declared Phillip to be a “sexual deviant and chronic drug addict.”

After 18 years, Angel’s mother was finally set free

Dugard’s were eventually saved in 2009. It all began when Phillip began bringing his daughters Angel and Starlet to the University of California, Berkeley campus.

The college police were wary of Phillip since they had seen that his conduct and actions were extremely out of the ordinary.

Later, when they began their investigation, it was discovered that he was a parolee for a sex offender who had been convicted.

Additionally, the authorities eventually discovered that Phillip, who identified the children he spoke with at the college as his daughters, had never actually had a daughter as claimed in his earlier paperwork presented during his previous conviction.

Further research was conducted as a result of this, and Phillip turned himself in on August 26, 2009.

He ultimately received a 431-year sentence after being found guilty of one offense of kidnapping and thirteen counts of sexual assault. However, his wife, who was also a part of the kidnapping, received a 36-year prison term.

Well, when questioned why Jaycee never tried to get out of prison, she cited physical and psychological abuse as the cause.

She claimed that Phillip had led her to believe that if she left this place against her will, he would kidnap other girls. In an interview, she discussed the same subject and stated,

“I’ve thought about that question a lot. I am aware that no one left. There was no way out due to the psychological manipulation and the initial physical violence I experienced. What it would have required is unknown to me. Perhaps if one of the girls was harmed,”

Does Angel Dugard Have a Younger Sister as Well?

As we already mentioned, Jaycee has a younger sister named Starlet Dugard who was born in 1997 in addition to Angel. Starlet’s mother, who was only 17 at the time, gave birth to her.

Despite being extremely close, neither sister has ever been in the media. The siblings are currently enrolled at the University of California, according to reports.

A Stolen Life: A Memoir, by Angel Mother, told her life story

The mother of Angel Dugard made the decision to tell her story to the world after escaping from captivity. After two years, in 2011, she released a book titled A Stolen Life.

Because none of the horrors Angel’s mother had to go through was her fault, she said she wanted to share her experience with others.

She spoke about her experience in an effort to encourage future victims to stand up for themselves. Jaycee also included a dedication to her daughter Starlet and Angel in the book.

Currently, what is Angel Dugard doing?

Angel has only been living a regular life for a little over a year. She had to undergo extensive counseling after being freed from the kidnapper in order to recover from the trauma she, her sister, and her mother had all experienced. She is currently living a contented but unremarkable existence.
