Jonathan Lemire a reporter, and his wife, Carrie Melago, are both interested in journalism. Carrie Melago and Jonathan Lemire might not have ever met, much less gotten married, if it weren’t for Jonathan Lemire’s fervent interest in journalism.

Lemire is a political commentator and reporter for MSNBC and NBC News, and his spouse is the managing editor of local news for Chalkbeat.

They have two young youngsters and have been married for more than ten years.

Relationship Status of Jonathan Lemire

Lemire and Melago initially met while serving as reporters for the New York Daily News. They quickly become close because of their shared interest in journalism. As time went on, the two developed a romantic relationship.

After dating for a while, they advanced their relationship. On September 27, 2008, they said “I do” in a private ceremony at the Oratory Church of St. Boniface in Brooklyn. Their wedding was officiated by Roman Catholic priest Rev. Joel M. Warden.

They have a strong sense of respect for their professions and steadfast love for one another. For instance, on February 13, 2018, when Melago announced she was joining Chalkbeat as managing editor, her husband kindly retweeted the announcement with the phrase “Proud of you.”

Lemire’s family comprises two boys

Lemire and his wife are experts at breaking news to a broad audience, but they keep the identities of their kids a closely-guarded secret. They haven’t shared much information about their sons, other than the fact that her oldest son was born in 2012, so far.

Melago, on the other hand, has talked openly about her maternity journey, especially the first few months. She compared her personal experience with the way motherhood issues were portrayed in the Netflix series The Letdown in an essay she published for the Washington Post in May 2018.

As a devoted husband, Lemire tweeted about the article on May 15. He also mentioned how much he admired his wife for raising their two sons so well.

At the moment, the four-person family dwells in Brooklyn, New York.

Jonathan Lemire: Profession, Career

In addition to having a happy marriage and a happy family, the pair also enjoys a successful career. Lemire started working as a journalist after receiving his degree from Columbia University. In his early years, he was an intern at the New York Daily News.

He was afterward employed as a reporter. He spent more than ten years working for the news agency, covering significant occasions like the City Hall election of 2012, the 2012 presidential election, and the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The Massachusetts native started working as a White House reporter for The Associated Press in 2013, a post he still maintains today. He also serves as a political analyst for NBC News and MSNBC.

His wife Melago is a University of Maryland alumna who started her career as a New Haven Register writer. Before transferring to the New York Daily News, where she spent nearly five years, she then worked for a brief period of time at The Wall Street Journal.

After her tenure at the New York Daily News came to an end in 2018, she began working as managing editor at Chalkbeat in March 2018.
