However, Larry Bird does not share his adoption process with the public with the same pride as many other couples.

All we know is that in 1993 when she was just a few months old, NBA legend Larry Bird and his wife Dinah Mattingly adopted her.

Larry had already left the NBA at the time of this adoption, but his exploits would be spoken about for a long time.

Larry, who hails from the small Indiana town of French Lick, displayed exceptional basketball talent at a young age and was able to secure a collegiate athletic scholarship.

Even though various problems endangered his college career, he later returned and had a fantastic career. After being selected in the NBA draft in 1979, Larry Bird went on to have an illustrious 13-year career during which he captured three NBA titles, an Olympic gold medal, three NBA MVP awards, and the NBA Finals MVP (2x).

On the other hand, Dinah Mattingly, Larry Bird’s second wife, is Mariah Bird’s adopted mother.

On the sixteenth day of November 1954, Dinah was born. She was raised in Indiana and earned her high school graduation there before enrolling at a nearby university to finish her undergraduate education.

The majority of people mistakenly believe that Don Mattingly, an MLB legend, and Dinah Mattingly are related, however, this is untrue. The only things they have in common are a surname and a state of residence.

Conner, Mariah Bird’s older brother, was found guilty in 2013 of battery and criminal recklessness

Conner, one of Mariah Bird’s two siblings, is also her brother. Conner was raised alongside Mariah after being adopted as a baby by Larry Bird and his wife in 1991. He graduated from Indiana University and is currently in his 30s.

Although his occupation is unknown, he has already made headlines for unfortunate events. When he was roughly 20 years old in 2011, he was detained for underage drinking.

He avoided any major consequences, but by 2013, a former girlfriend had accused him of attempting to run her over with his car, leading to charges of violence, dangerous driving, and other offenses.

He was fortunate to make a plea agreement with the authorities because this was a serious offense that could have resulted in him serving a lengthy prison sentence.

His sentence was suspended with a number of restrictions, including that he participate in a mentoring program and refrain from committing any more crimes. Since Conner hasn’t made the news about this incident again, it appears that he complied with these rules.

Corrie Bird, her older half-sister, has fought for years to be acknowledged by their father

Larry Bird has more daughters besides Mariah Bird. The NBA legend’s first, brief marriage to Janet Condra in 1975 resulted in a daughter named Corrie.

Corrie was born in 1976, and because her parents divorced before she was even born, she never had the chance to develop a personal relationship with him.

Her mom and stepfather, Mr. Hargarave, reared her mostly, and she never succeeded in establishing a relationship with her biological father. He never responded to her emails, and he never tried to get to know her.

The only positive actions taken by her father were the regular payments of child support and the Christmas gifts.

However, Corrie was unsatisfied with this because all she wanted was for her father to make an effort to support her. Despite being devastated by his rejections, she persisted in trying to enter his life.

Her efforts were successful since her father’s wife, Dinah, invited her to some parties where she met her father. Corrie Bird has an MBA and various bachelor’s degrees from Indiana-based universities.

She has experience working at many hospitals and currently specializes in healthcare management. In 2008, she wed Trent Batson, and the two of them have since had two kids.
