Who is Dr. Pol?
Dr. Pol, the seasoned vet who oversees the Pol Vet Services and is a well-liked television character, you simply cannot go wrong. Dr. Pol the man has been providing for the needs of animals for many years, earning quite a reputation in the process.
The tv series “The Incredible Dr. Pol,” which will have 21 seasons by 2022, has a thorough account of his journey. Over ten years, the Pol veterinary service lost several veterinarians who were later replaced. Showrunners, however, have introduced fresh faces who are following in the footsteps of the past and are stars in the making rather than rushing to replace the old cast with star doctors. Dr. Jan Harm Pol
Dr. Jan Harm Pol is the spokesman for the Pol Vet Services. Jan Harm Pol is also known as Dr. Pol. Dr. Pol is in charge of overseeing operations as the farm’s main figurehead. After relocating to Michigan in 1981, the 80-year-old opened the clinic. Jan Pol keeps at the farm with thousands of cases in his luggage.
Diane Pol
She is the second-in-command and Jan Pol’s wife. Diane, who was born on February 6th, 1944, was reared in Mayville, Michigan. Being an animal lover, Diane is instrumental in the growth of Pol Vet Services. She operates behind the scenes and serves as the clinic’s manager. Diane avoids the medical side of things, but her managerial abilities are undoubtedly helpful in day-to-day operations.
Dr. Brenda Grettenberger
A senior employee, Dr. Brenda Grettenberger has worked primarily in the clinic throughout her career. Brenda, a native of Michigan, was born on February 23, 1967. She started working at the clinic in 1992, and today she is a senior staff veterinarian. Early on, Brenda struggled to establish her authority in a setting where men predominated. Despite the farmers’ skepticism, she gradually established her dominance in the clinic and has since played a crucial role in the TV series.
Dr. Nicole Arcy
In July 2018, the mixed-animal veterinarian Nicole Arcy formally commenced working for “Pol Veterinary Service.” She debuted on television in the latter part of 2019 and has since been a fan favorite.
Nicole has aided Dr. Pol with surgeries and farm maintenance throughout her brief stay at the clinic. Arcy, a graduate of the University of Missouri, began working at the clinic as an intern before relocating there permanently. In addition to holding a DVM, Dr. Arcy has added a Master’s in Public Health to her resume, and at her age, the sky’s the limit. From 2019 until 2022, Dr. Arcy will appear in 200 episodes.
Dr. Jan Harm Pol and Diane Pol’s adopted son are named Charles Pol. He served as the show’s executive producer in addition to being a regular cast member.
Beth Pol
In 2018, Beth Oakes started as Charles’s girlfriend in “The Incredible Dr. Pol.” As her status changed from fiancée to wife over time, so did her show credits. While accompanying Charles on farm calls, Beth Pol plays the role of his wife.
Dr. Lisa Jones
Dr. Ray and Dr. Lisa Jones both joined Dr. Pol at the same time. She, an associate veterinarian like Dr. Ray, started working at Pol Veterinary Service on July 1st, 2019. Virtually no information existed about Dr. Jones before his joining Dr. Pol. We may infer Dr. Jones is a young veterinarian from her appearances on the program. Dr. Lisa has proven she is here to stay by appearing in 52 episodes from 2020 to 2022 since her TV debut in 2020. To look forward to and learn from, she has Dr. Brenda Grettenberger, a seasoned veterinarian who battled farmers as the only female veterinarian in the region. Dr. Lisa would be relieved to not have to deal with farmer resistance and persuade them as Dr. Brenda did in her early career.

It is painful to say goodbye to the cast that we have grown so accustomed to. Several cast members have departed the show over the years, some for personal reasons and some in search of new experiences. Fans deserve praise for their steadfastness in the face of celebrity departures. The cast members who left the show are listed below.
Dr. Ray Harp
He began working for Dr. Pol as an associate veterinarian on July 1, 2019. Dr. Ray was inspired to go to veterinary school because he liked Dr. Pol’s program. He, who was born and raised in Kansas, earned a biology bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. After leaving the University, Dr. Harp started working at a dog daycare in Philadelphia before going back to KSU to complete his veterinary technician degree. From 2020 through 2021, Dr. Harp will appear on 17 episodes of the program. Dr. Nicole Arcy and Dr. Lisa Jones, who were also newcomers, made a comeback for the 20th season, while Dr. Ray did not. Has he quit the program? Dr. Harp has also not appeared in season 21; it appears that he has quit the program, and it is possible that the show’s creators will not explain.

Dr. Emily Thomas
Dr. Emily Thomas, a staff DVM at the Pol veterinary service, left after season 15 episode 11 called “Little Pol Peep.” She was born Emily Keene on April 1st, 1984 in Georgia, a state in the southeast of the United States. Mother of three, Emily made her television debut in 2015, and her fan base continued to expand. Tony Thomas, her husband, helped her make farm calls.
To explore a professional opportunity that does not involve appearing in front of the camera, Dr. Emily departed the program. She also wished to spend more time with her loved ones.
Around June 2019, Dr. Emily and her family relocated to Virginia. She is currently employed by the Virginia Warren County Veterinary Clinic. We wish she would miss working with the camera and come back to Michigan and the “Dr. Pol” show.
Other well-liked staff members that left the show included Drs. Sandra Wisniewski and Elizabeth Grammar.
Tony Thomas: Tony Thomas, who does not practice veterinary care, was allowed to appear in the program as a veterinarian assistant. He assisted Emily Thomas, his wife, with farm calls and other veterinary services.
Dr. Michele Sharkey
Michele Sharkey started working at the Pol clinic as a Staff DVM sometime in 2018. After her introduction in the series as a newly minted DVM, Staff Veterinarian, she was formally welcomed into the gang. Michele had already met Dr. Pol before, even though this was their first appearance together. Michele frequently visited the clinic in 2011 to talk about the issues with her horses. Sharkey had been a regular character in the show up until 2019, and as of 2022, he has not shown any signs of being so.
Dr. Sandra Wisniewski
In season 2 of 2012, Dr. Sandra made her acting debut as a veterinary student. While still appearing on the show, she changed from being an aspirant student to a staff DVM. Before exiting the program in 2017, she appeared in 14 episodes. Her loyalty to her family was the main factor in her decision to leave.
Chris Shindorf, Dr. Sandra’s fiancé and soon-to-be husband, and she were engaged. In 2014, the couple exchanged vows. As Sandra had to continue working and spend less time with Chris, the issue started to develop. While she had to go to work in Weidman, Michigan, her husband resided in Belding, Michigan. She left the show so she could spend more time with her family.
Wisniewski became pregnant while she was still filming the show, and Madilynn, her first child, was born in 2016. She gave birth to Sam, her second child, in 2019 after quitting the show. Currently, Sandra resides with her husband and children in Belding, Michigan.
Elizabeth Grammar, Ph.D.
In 2018, “The Incredible Dr. Pol” lost Dr. Elizabeth, a DVM, and Pol Veterinary Service staff veterinarian. In her first year, 2016, she made frequent appearances. Everyone praised her debut while also speculating about her long-term viability. Her TV career was destroyed, nevertheless, by a personal tragedy. Elizabeth lost her husband on December 30, 2016. She then shut herself away for a while. She reportedly made another suicide attempt.
Elizabeth was held under close supervision before being moved to the Macon Medical Center’s psychiatric unit. She then made two further appearances after receiving treatment, one in 2017 and the other in 2018. Elizabeth relocated out of Michigan. She is currently employed by “Animal Amour Veterinary Hospital and Pet Lodge” in Hampton, Georgia, as a veterinarian.
